STARS 13u Red Team WINS 2015 Maywood Firecracker Tournament!

The 13u Red Team brought home the 2015 Maywood Firecracker Tournament Championship with dominant pitching and explosive bats!

Coach Tino Pardo sent Gabe Mounkhall to the mound in the semi-final game against Wyckoff. Mounkhall was on fire, pitching a one hit shutout. The Stars defense was impenetrable, recording out after out behind Mounkhall. Jake Lagana scored the only run of the game on a Frank Ross single deep into center field. The 1-0 victory earned the Stars a spot in the Championship Game against Mahwah.

Mahwah jumped out to an early lead in the Championship Game, putting three runs on the board in the top of the first. Jack Wren and Mike Reilly never let up another run after the 1st inning and completely shut down the Mahwah bats for the rest of the game. The Stars went on the attack, pounding out 15 hits in 5 innings. Joey Giudice, Shane Brosnan, Chris Davis, Gabe Mounkhall, Dylan Olsen & Joss Hindin burned up the base paths with hit after hit throughout the game. Benny Partridge and Patrick Dodrill both went three for three at the dish; and Dodrill drove in the walk-off mercy run in the bottom of the 5th inning.

Great Win Boys!!!
